Research & Development

As minimally invasive surgery continues to expand and evolve, ongoing research and procedure and technology development needs to continue in order to keep up with the pace of change in the endoscopic and laparoscopic surgery field.

The Center’s facilities were uniquely designed as a place for structured programs in both clinical and basic science research. Research protocols can be established to include prospective, randomized trials evaluating clinical outcomes, animate studies evaluating new procedures and basic science projects.

The Center also provides the ideal location in which to conduct extensive University-wide research projects. It’s proximity to the diverse, international medical faculty on campus yields a strong academic base within the University system to support research efforts.

Working with Industry

The state-of-the-art Center provides a secure environment in which to conduct research and development labs. These sessions bring surgeons, bio-medical engineers, and corporate personnel together to work on new instrumentation, medical devices or equipment for existing and new, cutting-edge minimally invasive procedures.
