Technical Advances in Biliary Endoscopy

Course Description
This course is intended for biliary endoscopists with an interest in advanced interventional procedures. The course will focus on techniques for difficult cannulation.  Recent advances in ERCP technology such as wire-guided cannulation, double-wire cannulation, ampullectomy, metal stenting, and needleknife sphicterotomy will be taught. This course will include a didactic session, live surgery, and a hands-on animate laboratory session.

Objectives
Participants will be able to:
- Understand the most advanced technology and techniques in ERCP including wire-guided cannulation, double-wire cannulation, ampullectomy, metal stenting, and needleknife sphincterotomy.

- Compare and contrast new techniques to achieve selective deep cannulation of the pancreaticobiliary tree and minimize post ERCP pancreatitis.

- Understand the endoscopic approach to physician guidewire control.
