Course Description
This workshop will provide participants with a review of the basic hand-assisted laparoscopic (HAL) instrumentation, surgical techniques, and the patient selection criteria for hand-access laparoscopic procedures.  Lectures will include a detailed review of hand-assisted laparoscopic nephrectomy, HAL and laparoscopic partial nephrectomy and laparoscopic and HAL donor nephrectomy.  The special considerations of a HAL nephroureterectomy will also be presented.  Particpants wil perform hand-access techniques for the procedures in an animate laboratory session.
