Course Description
This course is designed to introduce Surgeons and Gastroenterologists to the latest advances and clinical data in RF treatment of GERD with emphasis on patient evaluation and treatment technique. Hands-n experience will enable the physician to obtain the highest level of training possible prior to implementing this procedure into their practice.

Learning Objectives
• Discuss the application of RF energy for the treatment of GERD
• Discuss patient selection and work-up
• Cite specific sedation requirements of Stretta
• List the methods of assessing, recognizing, managing and avoiding post-treatment complications  
• Discuss overall management of GERD
• Discuss the current advantages and potential disadvantages of RF energy for GERD
• Identify the clinical outcomes of RF energy for GERD

Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

       • Hands-on Experience (STRETTA)
       • Catheter preparation, balloon inflation, guidewire
       • Endoscopic measurement for STRETTA catheter positioning
       • STRETTA catheter introduction

       • Troubleshooting

  * Live Case Demonstrations will provide simultaneous endoscopic and room video with interactive voice feed to allow for questions. Schedule changes may require substituting a video demonstration for live case demonstration.
** Animal Lab – 4 pig stations will be setup for the hands-on aspect of the course with a maximum of three doctors per station.
